Vestry Update – Submitted by Paul Austin

Hello fellow Ambrosians.

Well, we are in my favorite season of the year – Lent. For me Lent symbolizes renewal, reawakening and rebirth.  I always anticipate the trees blooming and flowers sticking their heads out of the ground. Of course, that rebirth continues on with the first day of Easter and the resurrection of our Lord.

I have started a new job as your Sr. Warden and feel reawakened to the possibilities that we have at St. Ambrose.  New people are coming into the church each week and we get to share our love with them and grow in our faith with them.  I am excited about the retreat this weekend and the renewal possibilities that it holds for us as a body and as individuals.  I attended the last Sextons’ Guild meeting and was very impressed with the amount of wisdom on that committee and the dedication that they put into their work.  Fr. Peter and I have met twice, once informally and once to discuss the agenda for the vestry meeting.  We plan on having monthly executive committee meetings and have made a good start to the new year.  I am always available to listen to concerns and ideas that anyone might have regarding St. Ambrose, the vestry, or our priests, Peter and Heather.

Love in Christ,
Paul Austin
