DEACON’S DISCOURSE
Thank you all for your generous support of Habitat for Humanity’s Apostles Program. We have purchased $9400.00 worth of King Soopers and Safeway gift cards in the first quarter of this year. This gave Habitat $494.00. AWESOME! The other part of our commitment to the Apostles Program is to provide lunch for 20 workers, and to recruit ½ of a Work Crew twice a year. The date for the lunch is Thursday June 10th. There will be more information about the lunch forth coming. We will also be recruiting 7 folks for ½ of a construction crew on July 10th or July 30th. The date has not been finalized yet. Workers must be 16 and accompanied by a parent until age 18 when they may participate on their own. If you would like to participate in either of these opportunities please let me know. And thank you for continuing to purchase the grocery cards. Linda.Vosburgh@Colorado.EDU
Mother’s Day is coming. Please consider a gift that will make a huge difference in a mother and her children’s life in Africa. A treated mosquito net from Episcopal Relief and Development’s gifts for Life Catalogue is only $12.00. Pregnant women and young children are disproportionately affected by Malaria. There are catalogues in the Narthex, or you may go online at www.er-d.org/giftsforlife/ to see the many other life giving gifts available.
Bishop’s blend Fair Trade Coffee and Tea also has Mother’s day gifts available at www.er-d.org/BishopsBlend/ as well as their usual selection of coffee and tea. Episcopal Relief and Development receives 15% of the purchase price to support their work around the world.
